Understories 003: Andy Goodwin + Tom Parker, Fettle Design

This week, we speak to Andy Goodwin and Tom Parker, founders of Fettle Design, a design studio that is based in Los Angeles and London.  The business that Andy and Tom have built is a brilliant example of how you can be international, do a diverse range of projects, while remaining small, and be the “first multinational company with two employees.”

They talk openly about the balance, it takes to grow a studio in two different countries. We talk about how they’ve taken an active decision to focus on hospitality interiors. We also discuss why they chose to grow their studio slowly and thoughtfully so they could maintain relationships, while at the same time learning to delegate and relinquish control which led to stronger projects.
